Senior Payroll Officer

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our Payroll Team on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, Awards, Enterprise Agreements and employment contracts.

• Deliver accurate and timely end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, Awards, Enterprise Agreements and employment contracts.
• Manage employee lifecycle transactions including new starters, transfers, terminations, redundancies and complex payroll-related calculations.
• Interpret Awards, Enterprise Agreements and industrial instruments to resolve payroll queries and support effective decision-making.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve payroll processes, systems and controls, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop strong working relationships with internal stakeholders while managing competing priorities and maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.

You are an experienced Senior Payroll Officer with strong technical payroll expertise and the ability to thrive in a complex, fast-paced environment. You bring a proactive, solutions-focused approach and are committed to delivering high-quality outcomes.

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with demonstrated experience performing payroll reporting, data uploads, validations, reconciliations and back pay calculations within large and complex payroll environments.
• Experience using payroll systems such as Preceda and UKG, with exposure to Dayforce highly regarded.
• Demonstrated experience in a large, complex, multi-site payroll environment with responsibility for end-to-end payroll processing.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, statutory requirements, long service leave, PAYG, reconciliations and termination calculations.
• Proven ability to interpret Awards, Enterprise Agreements and industrial instruments, applying sound judgement to resolve complex payroll matters.
• Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to manage change, meet critical deadlines and maintain accuracy under pressure.
