About This Role
Ongoing, Full Time opportunity based in the North MetroHelp Young People at a crucial time of their lives to change their life trajectory and impact community safetySalary band of $97,429 - $109,593 plus superannuation
Delivered by the youth justice service as a discrete program Children's Court Youth Diversion (CCYD) has a critical interface with the Youth Justice Court Advice Service. CCYD ensures consistent and equitable access to diversion for eligible young Victorians early in their contact with the Children's Court.
About The Role
As a CCYD Coordinator, you will ensures children and young people before the Children's Court of Victoria are supported to access and complete youth diversion. You will liaise with a range of stakeholders to conduct a comprehensive assessment for diversion suitability and strengthen young people's existing relationships and interests to promote positive change.
Key Responsibilities Include
Provide authoritative advice, information and reports to stakeholders and advocate on behalf of the young person, as appropriate.Undertake evidence-based assessment in relation a young person's eligibility for the CCYDProvide short term case coordination and facilitate brief interventions for young people with complex needsIdentify issues and trends, assess the potential application of developments in the fieldCollect and analyse data that informs current and future policy development and service delivery
Please note this role requires travel to multiple locations across the North West Metro Region including Broadmeadows, Sunshine and Melbourne CBD.
About You
Advanced understanding of the criminal justice system as it relates to young people, and services available to young people.Understanding of the principles of diversion and case work and a range of assessment and brief interventionsAn in-depth knowledge of restorative justice would be beneficial.Establishes trust with others, gathers information and develops persuasive arguments based on factsdemonstrates an interest in and an appreciation of a range of different cultures and actively seeks to understand and effectively address the issues and views of others
