Support Worker Disability Services

About the role - Immediate Start
We are a NDIS registered provider seeking a dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team. This casual position is ideal for someone with who can travel across and outside of the Geelong region and enjoys the flexibility of a varied work schedule. As a Support Worker you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals and live independently.

What you'll be doing

1. Assisting clients with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation and household tasks.

2. Working across various service settings - community access and engagement, behaviour support implementation and short-term accommodation

3. Accompanying clients to appointments, social activities, and community events to promote their inclusion and participation

4. Providing emotional support and encouraging clients to develop life skills and build capacity

5. Collaborating with clients, their families, and other allied health professionals to develop and implement individualised support plans

6. Maintaining accurate records and documentation to ensure the highest standards of care

7. Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and legislative requirements to ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients

What we're looking for

1. A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role, supporting individuals with disabilities

2. A genuine passion for supporting individuals with a disability to live their best lives

3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients and has the flexibility to travel

4. Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities to respond effectively to the diverse needs of clients

5. A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to provide personalised and empathetic support

6. A current First Aid and CPR certificate and a valid driver's licence

7. Has or is studying toward a certificate 4 or higher in the Community Services Industry / Disability Services or Mental Health sector
