About the role
A fast-growing Civil contractor with exposure to marquee and Tier 1 projects
Our client is a rapidly expanding Civil contractor with a strong pipeline of marquee and Tier 1 infrastructure projects across NSW. As the business scales, they're creating a newly established Safety Coordinator role, offering genuine scope to shape the HSE culture across the organisation and, over time, build and lead the safety team.
About the Role
Reporting into senior leadership, you'll take ownership of day-to-day safety coordination across active sites while embedding a proactive HSE culture business-wide. This is a role for someone who wants more than a tick-the-box compliance function; you'll have genuine input into how safety systems, processes, and culture evolve as the company grows.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and oversee HSE processes across multiple live civil construction sites
Conduct site inspections, audits, and toolbox talks, and drive corrective actions
Support incident investigations, reporting, and root cause analysis
Develop and refine safety management systems, policies, and procedures
Deliver safety inductions and training to site teams and subcontractors
Build strong relationships with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to embed safety-first thinking
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives as the function matures
Support the future establishment of a dedicated in-house safety function
About You
2-3+ years' experience in a safety role within civil, construction, or infrastructure environments
Relevant HSE qualification (Certificate IV in WHS or equivalent) desirable
Working knowledge of NSW WHS legislation and construction industry safety standards
Strong communication skills, with the confidence to influence site-level behaviour
A proactive, hands-on approach with genuine interest in shaping systems and culture as the business grows
Ambition to step into a leadership role as the function expands
What's on Offer
Exposure to significant civil infrastructure work, including marquee and Tier 1 projects
A fast-growing business with genuine career progression, including the opportunity to eventually lead the safety function
Flexible salary package for the right candidate
Fully maintained company vehicle
Real influence over how HSE culture and systems take shape
This is a newly created role, so we're open to candidates at varying levels of seniority. Whether you're ready to step up into your first coordination role or you're a seasoned HSE professional seeking a fresh challenge, we'd love to hear from you.
