About the Team
FEIT provides technical support services through a Faculty-led model, with specialist clusters supporting laboratories and facilities across the City Campus and Tech Lab, Botany. Technical staff work closely with Schools, Centres and industry partners to enable teaching, research and innovation activities across the Faculty.
The Mechanical, Manufacturing and Robotics (MMR) cluster is one of FEIT's largest and most diverse technical support groups. The team supports 20 engineering laboratories, including teaching and specialised research facilities focused on fabrication, advanced manufacturing, robotics, mechatronics and design.
The MMR team provides technical expertise and operational support across engineering laboratories, ensuring facilities, equipment and infrastructure are safe, effective and well-maintained. Working closely with academics, researchers and professional staff, the team enables high-quality teaching, research and industry engagement activities while supporting innovation and the use of advanced technologies.
About the Role
The Senior Technical Services Officer provides technical support for specialised laboratories and engineering equipment across the City Campus and Tech Lab, Botany.
The role supports teaching, research and industry engagement activities within robotics, manufacturing and mechatronics environments. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining laboratory equipment, supporting practical classes, training users, managing laboratory infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.
The position plays an important role in maintaining high-performing laboratory facilities and driving continuous improvement in laboratory operations, equipment reliability and technical service delivery.

Base Salary Range: $101,262 - $109,641 (HEW6)?plus 17% superannuation (pension)
The position is full time and will be made on a continuing basis.
