Asset Lifecycle Officer

Who we are looking for

We're looking for someone who is keen and enthusiastic to use and share their knowledge and experience to shape and improve how we manage our various assets.

You'll help us understand the condition of our assets, developing asset management plans and creating maintenance programs and selecting assets which need to be replaced to ensure we continue to deliver our important services to the community and customers.

This is a part-time position, 19.5 hours per week, contracted for 12 months and based in Warrnambool, with a generous salary of $91,529 to $99,513 p.a. pro rata plus superannuation.

What you'll be doing

On a day-to-day basis, you'll:

• Work individually and with a team to improve our understanding of our assets and support our colleagues by developing maintenance, inspection and renewal programs.
• Capture and recording asset and condition information in our systems to allow informed decisions to be made, and to present asset management strategies to senior management.
• Create asset management plans on our broad classes of assets which help manage and ensure we extract as much value from our assets as possible.
• Conduct investigative work to find out how we can better manage our assets. 
• Get out in the field to find out the condition and criticality of our assets.
• Use leading software programs to help interrogate data and make recommendations on what assets need to be replaced or repaired.
• Undertake personal development opportunities by working with other industry groups and water corporations to build your asset management knowledge.

What you’ll bring 

We’re looking for someone with a broad skill-set who can apply their knowledge, learn new skills and contribute within a dynamic and inter-disciplinary environment. Your skills might include:

• Qualifications or relevant experience in asset management, engineering, and/or project management, or strong field experience in the management and maintenance of assets.
• Administration knowledge to capture asset and condition information in computer systems.
• Experience or knowledge of the water supply and sewerage industry.
• Experience in asset or maintenance systems, management or asset renewal planning.
• High level communication skills - the ability to distil information and concisely document it.
