About the Opportunity

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will provide essential technical and operational support to pharmacists and the broader healthcare team. Working under the supervision of a pharmacist, you will play an important role in ensuring medicines are safely managed, accurately dispensed, and readily available to support high-quality patient care across CCLHD.

This position forms part of the CCLHD Pharmacy Dispensary team, with opportunities to support procurement and inventory management operations as required. The role will involve working across CCLHD sites as part of a weekend roster, with additional opportunities to participate in rotating after-hours and public holiday rosters.

In this role you will:

• Support the safe and effective management, distribution, dispensing, and preparation of medicines in accordance with pharmacy procedures, NSW Health legislation, and National Standards.
• Identify and escalate medication issues or risks that may affect patients or staff.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, carers, health professionals, and other stakeholders to support seamless and high-quality patient care.
• Contribute to a positive multidisciplinary team environment through collaboration, strong organisational skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Participate in education, training, quality improvement, and professional development activities to enhance pharmacy practice and patient outcomes.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

• A relevant qualification recognised by the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia, or a qualification up to Certificate III level in Hospital and Community Pharmacy, or an equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrated understanding of, and experience in, pharmaceutical dispensing, distribution, stock management, and preparation, preferably within a hospital or Australian community pharmacy setting.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and accurately with a range of stakeholders.
• Sound written communication and computer skills, including experience with pharmacy dispensing software such as iPharmacy.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, accountability, and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• A strong work ethic and commitment to teamwork, ongoing learning, and continuous improvement.
• A current driver's licence and the ability to travel across CCLHD sites.
