About the role
About us
At Altrad, your growth fuels our success.
We are a trusted provider of specialist construction, maintenance, and integrated industrial solutions across Australia, partnering with major clients in energy, resources, utilities, and defence.
We go beyond building and maintaining assets, we create Impact that Matters. Every day, our people contribute to safer workplaces, stronger communities, and a more sustainable future.
As part of the global Altrad Group, with over 65,000 people across 50+ countries, you’ll join a network that’s connected by purpose, driven by innovation, and united by our shared values of Solidarity, Respect, Humility, Conviviality, and Courage.
About the role
Altrad is seeking experienced PIF and Mechanical Maintenance Planners to support a major LNG Oil & Gas project in Perth. Based in our Subiaco office on a 9-day fortnight, these roles provide an opportunity to use your practical trade experience in a planning-focused position, supporting the safe, efficient and well-coordinated delivery of maintenance activities across an operating LNG asset.
This is an ideal opportunity for experienced tradespeople looking to transition off the tools, or maintenance professionals ready to build their career in planning.
Working closely with Maintenance, Production and project teams, you will play a key role in preparing work for execution, ensuring scopes are well defined, resources are understood and work can be delivered safely and efficiently.
In this role you will:
Plan, schedule and coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance activities across Utilities, Process and Storage & Loading areas.
Develop and manage work orders, job plans and work packs, ensuring scopes are clearly defined and ready for execution.
Manage reactive maintenance planning for breakdowns and unplanned outages, assessing defects and prioritising work accordingly.
Estimate job steps, labour, materials, equipment and specialist resources required to complete maintenance activities.
Review and maintain work instructions, maintenance plans, ITRs, ITPs and supporting quality documentation.
Work closely with Maintenance and Production teams to coordinate priorities and ensure work is safely and efficiently executed.
Support field execution and provide on-site planning assistance when required.
Whether you're an experienced planner or a skilled tradesperson looking to make the move into planning, this is an opportunity to build valuable planning expertise while remaining closely connected to the practical delivery of maintenance work.
About you
We're looking for practical, organised professionals who understand what good maintenance looks like and can translate that knowledge into well-planned, executable work.
You will bring:
A minimum of 3 years' experience in Oil & Gas maintenance, planning, scheduling or a closely related environment.
A relevant trade qualification, with Mechanical experience for Mechanical Planning or PIF/Coatings/Insulation experience for PIF Planning.
Practical experience developing work orders, job plans or work packs and preparing maintenance scopes for execution.
Strong understanding of maintenance methodologies, estimating, materials, resources and work sequencing.
The ability to interpret engineering standards, specifications, drawings and technical documentation.
Experience with fabric maintenance, coatings or insulation scopes for PIF Planning roles.
NACE Coating or ICorr Insulation certification will be highly regarded for PIF Planning roles.
Strong communication, organisation and analytical skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
A genuine interest in developing your career in maintenance planning and scheduling.
