The Role

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support secure enterprise infrastructure platforms within complex Defence and government environments.

This role will be responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and optimisation of on-premises and cloud infrastructure across highly secure environments. You will work across enterprise platforms including virtualisation, server and storage infrastructure, Windows and Linux operating systems, networking, and emerging technologies such as containerisation and AI infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, configure, and maintain secure on-premises and cloud infrastructure.Engineer and support VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V virtualisation environments.Configure and maintain Dell server, storage, and SAN infrastructure.Administer and support Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and SUSE Linux environments.Support enterprise networking including switching, routing, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, and segmentation.Build and support containerised platforms and associated infrastructure services.Implement infrastructure hardening, patching, monitoring, and vulnerability remediation activities.Troubleshoot infrastructure, operating system, network, storage, and performance issues.Support highly available and resilient infrastructure platforms in secure environments.Contribute to infrastructure automation, configuration management, and platform improvement initiatives.

What You'll Need

Strong hands-on infrastructure engineering experience across enterprise environments.Experience with VMware and/or Microsoft Hyper-V virtualisation platforms.Experience supporting enterprise server, storage, and SAN infrastructure.Strong Windows Server and Linux administration skills.Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or SUSE Linux is highly regarded.Practical networking experience covering TCP/IP, switching, routing, firewalls, and network troubleshooting.Experience implementing infrastructure solutions within secure, Defence, or government environments.Exposure to Kubernetes, containers, or container platforms is highly desirable.Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud is beneficial.Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Security Clearance Requirement

Due to the nature of this role, applicants must be Australian Citizens with an active NV2 security clearance. Candidates holding a higher clearance will also be considered.
