Truck Driver / Yard Hand / Depot All Rounder

Corio Waste Management Pty Ltd (CWM) was established in 1996 and is headquartered in Geelong. The company provides solid and liquid waste collection services to customers in Geelong, Ballarat and metropolitan Melbourne. Employing over 60 workers, CWM operates more than 40 vehicles, across 3 depots in Moolap, Altona & Ballarat. Along with an organic waste processing facility in Shepparton.

CWM is looking for an experienced truck driver to join our team in Geelong.

Accountability & Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe operation of company vehicles, plant and equipment used to transport company owned equipment to and from customer sites.

• Ensure the presentation of company owned plant and equipment meets and exceeds company and customer expectations.

• Inspect and report on maintenance requirements of company vehicles, plant and equipment

• Maintain an acceptable level of productivity, which will be regularly measured and monitored

• Communicate well and provide regular feedback on your own perspectives and needs

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

• At least 2 years’ experience driving HR vehicles.

• At least 2 years’ experience forklift driving. Experience with rear mount forklifts would be of an advantage, but not necessary as training will be provided.

• Experience and understanding of load restraints.

• Ability to provide a 5-year Vic Roads driver history and full driving record.

• Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety laws and regulations.

• An ability to work autonomously and perform as an individual and as part of a team.

• Geographic knowledge of Greater Geelong, Bellarine, Surf Coast, Golden Plains and Melbourne metropolitan area.

• Working With Children Check.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake physical testing prior to commencing employment with the company.

CWM’s drivers are employed under an Enterprise Agreement and remunerated above the pay rates provided for in the Waste Management Award.
