Clinical Nurse - Day Surgery

About the Role

Burnside Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse – Day Surgery to join our Perioperative Services team at our Stepney site. To be successful, you must bring proven pre‑operative and post‑operative Day Surgery experience, including patient assessment, preparation, discharge planning and coordination of safe admission pathways, along with advanced perioperative practice skills and a commitment to exceptional patient‑centred care.

In this permanent full-time or negotiated part-time (0.8+ FTE) RN Level 2 role, you’ll work collaboratively within a high‑performing multidisciplinary team, providing expert Day Surgery nursing care and supporting efficient, well‑coordinated patient flow. You’ll apply strong clinical reasoning, uphold ACORN and NSQHS Standards, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement across the Perioperative Suite. You’ll also play an important role in guiding the nursing team, supporting capability development, orientation and professional growth. The position includes involvement in quality initiatives, accreditation activities and service enhancement projects, helping strengthen perioperative practice and patient outcomes.
