Quality Systems Manager

About the role

Plan Group is seeking an experienced Quality Systems Manager to join our team in Melbourne. This is a full-time position that will be instrumental in developing, implementing and maintaining robust quality assurance and control systems across our construction operations. As Quality Systems Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of quality, compliance and safety. This role offers the strategic opportunity to shape quality culture within Plan Group and drive continuous improvement across all construction activities.

What you'll be doing

• Developing, implementing and maintaining comprehensive quality management systems and processes aligned with industry standards and regulations

• Conducting quality audits and inspections across construction projects to ensure compliance with specifications, standards and contractual requirements

• Managing non-conformance reporting and corrective action processes to address quality issues promptly and effectively

• Creating and updating quality documentation, procedures, checklists and work instructions for all construction activities

• Providing training and guidance to site teams and staff on quality standards, procedures and best practices

• Liaising with project managers, contractors and subcontractors to resolve quality issues and implement improvements

• Maintaining records of quality metrics, test results and performance data to support continuous improvement initiatives

• Ensuring adherence to relevant Australian Standards, building codes and regulatory requirements

• Identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing changes to enhance quality outcomes

• Reporting on quality performance to senior management and stakeholders

What we're looking for

• Formal qualifications in quality management, engineering or a related discipline

• 5+ years of experience in quality assurance and control within the construction industry

• In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, materials and building processes

• Strong understanding of relevant Australian Standards, National Construction Code and industry regulations

• Experience developing and implementing quality management systems (ISO 9001 knowledge advantageous)

• Proven ability to conduct quality inspections and audits

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams across multiple project sites

• Proficiency in quality management software such as Procore and Procure Pro and Microsoft Office applications

• Professional certification such as CQI or similar quality management credentials is preferred

• Current driver's license and willingness to visit construction sites regularly including interstate.
