Head of People & Culture 12-month fixed-term | Hybrid | Immediate start

About the Role

GreenCollar is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Head of People & Culture to cover a period of parental leave within our growing People & Culture function. Reporting to the General Manager, People & Culture, this role takes ownership of the annual people strategy and leads the operational delivery of all HR functions across the organisation, supported by a People & Culture Coordinator.

Position Responsibilities

• Own and deliver GreenCollar's annual People Strategy within the strategic framework set by the GM, People & Culture, with clear priorities, milestones, and measures.
• Lead end-to-end talent acquisition and recruitment activity across the organisation, supported by the People & Culture Coordinator.
• Manage all aspects of the HR annual cycle, including performance reviews, remuneration reviews, and engagement surveys.
• Provide timely, accurate advice to managers on employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary processes, grievances, and workplace investigations.
• Ensure compliance with Australian employment legislation, Awards, and GreenCollar's contractual obligations across all HR activity.
• Manage employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, probation, promotions, and contract variations.
• Deliver GreenCollar's L&D framework and support ongoing learning and development initiatives, with a focus on people managers and executives.
• Maintain and optimise HR systems and platforms, including ELMO, ensuring data accuracy and process integrity.
• Provide strategic input and people metrics reporting to the GM, People & Culture, Deputy CEO, and executive team as required.
• Lead and develop the People & Culture Coordinator, providing direction, support, and meaningful feedback.

About You

• 10+ years in People & Culture or Human Resources, with demonstrated experience at a senior or Head of level.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver annual people strategies in a small to medium-sized organisation.
• Strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation, including the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, and Modern Awards.
• Experienced in managing complex ER matters end-to-end, with sound judgment and a commitment to procedural fairness.
• Confident across HRIS platforms and recruitment tools; experience with ELMO highly desirable.
• Builds trusted relationships quickly across all levels of the organisation and communicates with clarity, warmth, and professionalism.
• Handles sensitive and confidential information with discretion at all times.
• Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in HR, Business, or a related discipline.
• Comfortable stepping into an established function and making an immediate impact. Prior fixed-term or parental leave cover experience is an advantage.
