HR2091 Library Officer

About the role

Our Library Officers enjoy interacting with and assisting members of our community, whilst contributing to the overall efficient and effective functioning of the Library. These are varied roles with the provision of first-class customer service at their core. As a Library Officer, a typical day may include:

• assisting members of the public to locate and/or acquire library resources to suit their needs

• providing technical assistance to public computer users

• circulation activities, including loan processing, returns, maintenance and shelving of library materials

• assisting with the development and delivery of library programs, such as story-time and school holiday activities

We are seeking candidates who have a passion for providing service excellent customer services to members of our community. Whilst previous library experience would be useful, this is not mandatory for these positions as training and mentoring will be provided.

To be successful in this role you will have:

A Working with Children Blue Card (before commencement in the position)

Substantial customer service experience involving face to face interactions and demonstrated commitment to providing excellent client service, including highly developed interpersonal skills

Demonstrated strengths in literacy and numeracy, attention to detail

Demonstrated current technical ability in a variety of information technology systems relevant to library services

Pay Level $49.42 - $52.64 per hour (Level 2) + 12% superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading.

In accordance with Council’s Enterprise Agreement and the relevant Award.

Pay rate dependent on relevant skills and experience.
