Shutdown Leading Hand - Fixed Plant & Maintenance

MINPROVISE is seeking experienced Leading Hands – Fixed Plant & Maintenance to join our growing Specialist Maintenance team on a casual, non-rostered basis.

This opportunity is ideal for experienced mechanical tradespeople looking to step into or further develop their leadership capabilities while remaining hands-on across a variety of mining maintenance, shutdown and ad hoc site support activities.

About the Opportunity:

You will play a key role in supervising and coordinating maintenance crews across fixed plant equipment, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

You will have the opportunity to work across a range of specialist maintenance activities, including:

• Crushers
• Apron feeders
• Vibrating screens
• Filter belts
• Pumps, valves and rotating equipment
• Conveyors and associated fixed plant

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise small crews to safely deliver maintenance activities
• Provide hands-on support across mechanical maintenance tasks
• Ensure compliance with site safety systems, permits, SWIs and procedures
• Plan and coordinate daily work scopes with Supervisors and clients
• Identify hazards and implement effective control measures
• Mentor and support team members to promote a strong safety and performance culture
• Maintain effective communication with internal teams, clients and site personnel
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with client requirements

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Australian-recognised Mechanical Trade Qualification – essential
• Demonstrated experience in a Leading Hand or supervisory position
• Strong fixed plant maintenance experience, with crusher experience highly regarded
• Proven ability to lead small teams in shutdown and maintenance environments
• Sound knowledge of permit systems, SWIs and hazard identification
• Current and valid Australian Driver’s Licence – manual
• Relevant high-risk licences – desirable
• Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights 
• Strong problem-solving, communication and leadership skills
• A strong commitment to safety and quality
