Team Leader - Youth Services

What you will do

As a team leader, you will support services for young people in custody. You will lead staff and help deliver programs that meet their welfare needs.

You will:

• coordinate targeted programs and services for young people aged 18 to 25
• lead and support staff who provide youth services, case management and on-call support
• complete focused welfare assessments and respond to referrals for young people
• provide clear advice and training to staff who work with young people in custody
• help develop, deliver and review the youth framework and related programs

About you

A relevant qualification or experience in human services, welfare practice or a related field would be highly desirable. You should also understand how correctional settings work.

You should also have:

• resilience and confidence when giving advice, receiving feedback and handling difficult situations
• strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions
• good people skills and the ability to build trust with people from different backgrounds
• leadership skills that help you guide staff, set clear expectations and manage daily work
