About the role

Tetris Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team in Somersby, NSW. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work with a leading organisation in the Trades & Services sector. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a crucial role in the installation, assembly, maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and equipment. Your expertise will directly contribute to the efficiency and reliability of our operations, making this a strategically important position within our organisation.

What you'll be doing

• Install, assemble and align mechanical components, machinery and equipment according to technical specifications and drawings

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance

• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults, troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement corrective solutions

• Operate precision measuring instruments and tools to verify accuracy and tolerances

• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and work instructions with precision

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks to minimise equipment downtime and extend asset life

• Collaborate with other tradespeople and supervisors to ensure projects are completed safely and on schedule

• Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety standards and regulations

• Document work completed and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs

What we're looking for

• Trade qualification or apprenticeship in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent demonstrated experience in a similar role

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter within industrial, manufacturing or engineering environments

• Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications

• Competency with precision measurement tools, gauges and testing equipment

• Sound knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and general engineering principles

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

• Physical fitness and capability to perform manual handling and work at heights where required

• Valid driver's licence (preferred)

• Current First Aid certification (preferred)

• Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety practices

• Strong communication and teamwork skills
