About the role
Tetris Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team in Somersby, NSW. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work with a leading organisation in the Trades & Services sector. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a crucial role in the installation, assembly, maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and equipment. Your expertise will directly contribute to the efficiency and reliability of our operations, making this a strategically important position within our organisation.
What you'll be doing
Install, assemble and align mechanical components, machinery and equipment according to technical specifications and drawings
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults, troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement corrective solutions
Operate precision measuring instruments and tools to verify accuracy and tolerances
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and work instructions with precision
Perform preventative maintenance tasks to minimise equipment downtime and extend asset life
Collaborate with other tradespeople and supervisors to ensure projects are completed safely and on schedule
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety standards and regulations
Document work completed and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
What we're looking for
Trade qualification or apprenticeship in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent demonstrated experience in a similar role
Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter within industrial, manufacturing or engineering environments
Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
Competency with precision measurement tools, gauges and testing equipment
Sound knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and general engineering principles
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Physical fitness and capability to perform manual handling and work at heights where required
Valid driver's licence (preferred)
Current First Aid certification (preferred)
Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety practices
Strong communication and teamwork skills
