About the Role
We now have a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Urban Forest Officer to conduct the maintenance, development and sustainability of the City of Cockburn's urban forest and streetscape assets.
Reporting to the Urban Forest Supervisor, the role is responsible for undertaking tree assessments, identifying pruning and root management requirements, coordinating and monitoring contracted works, and contributing to annual tree planting and maintenance programs.
The position plays an important role in ensuring the City's tree assets are managed safely and effectively, while delivering high levels of customer service and engaging respectfully with residents, businesses, contractors and other stakeholders. The role also contributes to asset management, budget planning, compliance inspections, contract administration and the ongoing development of the City's urban forest.
About you
You are an experienced arboriculture or horticulture professional with a passion for urban greening and sustainable landscapes. You bring strong technical knowledge and practical experience in tree assessment, pruning, contractor management and urban forest maintenance.
You are a confident communicator who enjoys building positive relationships with residents, contractors, businesses and colleagues. With a strong customer service focus, you can effectively respond to enquiries, provide technical advice and manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes.
You are organised, proactive and capable of working with limited supervision. Your attention to detail, commitment to safety and understanding of industry best practice will enable you to contribute to the ongoing development and management of the City of Cockburn's urban forest.

Salary and Benefits: Starting from Level 5 Step 1 – Step 4 ($96,988 - $102,899) of the City of Cockburn Industrial Agreement 2025, based on qualifications and experience.
