Head Chef – Modern Cafe Venue

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Leading, mentoring, and building a strong, cohesive kitchen team

• Designing a seasonal, modern cafe brunch and lunch menu, updated quarterly to showcase in-season ingredients

• Expanding and executing our ‘take-home meal’ offerings

• Meeting set labour targets, including hiring and rostering, in line with company guidelines

• Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction with consistent, high-quality products and timely service

• Following food safety standards and ensuring full compliance.

• Liaising with FOH team, managers, owners, and other relevant shareholders in a professional manner.

• Managing food costings, ordering and stock control to maintain efficiency and minimize waste

About You:

• Proven experience in a similar role with leadership responsibilities

• Sound understanding of key business aspects including, but not limited to, wage %, COGS, Industry Awards (or a willingness to learn)

• Creative, passionate, and detail-oriented, while maintaining a commercially minded approach

• A positive attitude and growth mindset will take you far in this role.

• Skilled in team leadership and development, with a strong customer-focused ethos

• Enthusiastic about Melbourne’s food scene, with an appreciation for quality craftsmanship

• High personal and professional standards with a desire to lead by example
