As a Toolmaker, you will manufacture, maintain and optimise precision tooling that supports our advanced manufacturing operations. Working closely with engineering and production teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring tooling performance, product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Toolmaker who enjoys a mix of precision manufacturing, problem-solving, maintenance and continuous improvement.

Tooling Manufacture

Manufacture precision tooling, fixtures, jigs, gauges, dies and moulds from engineering drawings and CAD models.

• Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools, including mills, lathes, grinders and EDM equipment.

• Select appropriate materials and machining methods to achieve required tolerances and surface finishes.

• Verify completed tooling against design specifications and quality standards.

Tool & Machine Maintenance and Repair

• Inspect, troubleshoot and repair damaged or worn tooling and machinery.

• Perform preventative maintenance activities on production tooling and equipment.

• Recommend tooling improvements to enhance performance, reliability and tool life.

• Maintain accurate records of repairs, modifications and maintenance activities.

Production Support

• Provide technical support to production and manufacturing teams.

• Assist with tooling setup, commissioning and optimisation of new production processes.

• Investigate tooling and machinery failures and implement corrective actions.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality and safety.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• Trade qualification as a Toolmaker, Fitter & Turner or similar.

• Experience manufacturing precision tooling and fixtures.

• Strong conventional machining skills, with CNC machining experience highly regarded.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models.

• Experience working to tight tolerances and quality requirements.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
