Senior Treasury Risk Analyst

Location: Macquarie Park, NSW | Full-time

Take the lead across liquidity, funding and financial risk analysis in a senior Treasury role with broad exposure to financial markets, hedging, systems and strategic initiatives.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Treasury Risk Analyst to join our Finance team in Macquarie Park.

Reporting to the Senior Treasury Manager, you’ll support the Group’s liquidity, funding and financial risk management activities. Your remit will include cash forecasting, liquidity management, foreign exchange and interest rate risk, derivative valuations, treasury accounting and the execution and monitoring of approved hedging strategies.

You’ll provide meaningful financial markets insights and risk analysis while helping strengthen Treasury systems, controls, governance and reporting across Metcash. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Treasury professional who enjoys combining technical expertise, commercial thinking and strong stakeholder engagement.

• Develop and enhance short, medium and long-term cash flow forecasting models
• Monitor daily liquidity, cash positions, borrowing facilities and surplus funds
• Analyse forecast variances and partner with stakeholders to improve forecasting accuracy
• Assess liquidity risk, including covenant headroom, debt maturity profiles, facility utilisation and cash flow stress scenarios
• Monitor foreign exchange and interest rate exposures and support approved hedging strategies
• Execute foreign exchange, money market, interest rate and derivative transactions with approved counterparties
• Monitor hedge effectiveness, policy limits and market conditions
• Perform independent valuations and monthly mark-to-market assessments of derivatives and financial market instruments
• Monitor counterparty credit exposure, banking covenants and Treasury risk limits
• Prepare reporting across liquidity, foreign exchange, interest rate, counterparty and market risk
• Support Treasury accounting, month-end reporting, reconciliations and statutory disclosures
• Prepare and maintain hedge accounting documentation and effectiveness testing
• Assist with audit, compliance and regulatory reviews
• Act as a key Treasury Management System user and subject matter expert
• Lead process improvements across Treasury automation, reporting, controls and data quality
• Provide financial markets insights and recommendations to Treasury leadership
• Lead or contribute to refinancing, banking, systems and cash management initiatives
• Act as a trusted adviser to stakeholders across the business 

• At least five years’ experience in corporate treasury, treasury risk management or financial markets within a large corporate, ASX-listed organisation or financial institution
• Strong experience in cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, working capital analysis and funding management
• Demonstrated experience managing foreign exchange and interest rate exposures
• Practical knowledge of FX spot and forward contracts, interest rate swaps, cross-currency swaps, money market instruments and debt facilities
• Experience executing and monitoring derivative hedging transactions
• Experience completing derivative valuations, mark-to-market reporting and treasury risk analysis
• Working knowledge of hedge accounting requirements under AASB 9 or IFRS 9
• Strong experience with Treasury Management Systems, reporting and process automation
• Experience working with banking partners, debt providers and financial market counterparties
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modelling and data analysis
• Experience with Bloomberg, Refinitiv, FXall or similar market information and trading platforms
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to turn complex financial information into actionable insights
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills
• A proactive and highly organised approach, with strong attention to accuracy, controls and governance
