Canberra Consulting is seeking experienced Senior Full Stack Developers to support a significant digital and cloud modernisation initiative within a Federal Government environment.

We are looking for accomplished developers with strong hands-on experience across C#, ASP.NET, Microsoft Azure, SharePoint, SQL Server and modern front-end technologies, who are comfortable working across the full technology stack within an agile enterprise delivery environment.

The Role

As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will work within a collaborative agile delivery team, contributing across solution design, development, testing, deployment and ongoing application improvement.
Key responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing secure, fit-for-purpose enterprise applications.
• Working across both front-end and back-end development, including server-side logic and database design.
• Providing technical advice on solution design and implementation approaches.
• Developing solutions using C#, ASP.NET and modern client-side frameworks.
• Working with Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps within an enterprise environment.
• Developing and modernising integrations with Microsoft SharePoint.
• Supporting the transition of legacy integrations toward modern, API-driven and cloud-ready architectures.
• Implementing secure authentication and authorisation patterns aligned with least-privilege principles.
• Participating in peer code reviews and maintaining high development and coding standards.
• Investigating and resolving application and integration issues.
• Developing and executing unit tests.
• Supporting application deployments across multiple environments.
• Producing technical documentation, implementation guidance and handover artefacts.
• Contributing to technical and security documentation.
• Working collaboratively with architects, developers, testers, product specialists and other project stakeholders.
• Providing technical leadership, mentoring and knowledge transfer to other team members.
• Contributing to agile workload planning, prioritisation and iterative delivery.

About You

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

• 5+ years' experience in full stack software development.
• Strong commercial or government experience with C# and ASP.NET.
• Experience working within complex enterprise application environments.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SharePoint, ideally including SharePoint Online, modern SharePoint platforms or enterprise SharePoint environments.
• Strong SQL Server experience.
• Experience with Angular and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience using Azure DevOps for application delivery and CI/CD.
• Strong experience with Git repositories and source control.
• PowerShell scripting experience.
• Understanding of modern API integration patterns.
• Experience with authentication, authorisation and secure application development.
• Knowledge of WCAG accessibility requirements and responsive design principles.
• Experience developing and executing unit tests.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Experience supporting cloud transformation or application modernisation initiatives will be highly regarded.
- Previous experience delivering solutions within Australian Government, Whole-of-Government or similarly secure and regulated environments will also be advantageous, particularly where you have worked with Government security frameworks such as the ISM and PSPF.
- Experience mentoring developers or providing technical leadership within multidisciplinary agile teams will be viewed favourably.

Security Requirements
- Candidates with an existing NV1 Australian Government Security Agency clearance are encouraged to apply.
- The successful candidate must ultimately have an NV1 or be willing and able to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance.

Working Arrangements
- The engagement is based in Canberra / ACT, with hybrid working arrangements available subject to operational and client requirements.
- Candidates must be based in the ACT or surrounding region and able to routinely attend the client site when required.

Contract

• Initial 12-month engagement
• Potential extension options
• Full-time engagement of up to 37.5 hours per week
• Anticipated commencement: October 2026
