Community Support Worker

About the role

Fostering Independence Pty Ltd is expanding into Adelaide, and we're looking for compassionate, reliable Community Support Workers to join our growing team. This is a casual position offering flexible hours and the opportunity to make a genuine difference in people's lives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care and support to clients, including assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming and meal preparation

• Accompany clients on community outings, appointments and social activities to promote social inclusion and independence

• Support clients in developing life skills and building confidence in their abilities

• Maintain detailed and accurate client records and documentation in accordance with organisational policies

• Communicate regularly with clients, families and the support coordination team to ensure continuity of care

• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve client goals and outcomes

• Respond sensitively and professionally to clients' needs and concerns

• Maintain a safe and respectful environment that supports client dignity and choice

• Adhere to all health, safety and compliance requirements relevant to aged and disability support

What we're looking for

• Experience working in community services, aged care, disability support or a related field is highly desirable

• Current or willingness to obtain a relevant First Aid qualification

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse client groups

• Demonstrated commitment to person-centred, respectful and dignified support practices

• Reliability, punctuality and the ability to manage time effectively across a flexible casual schedule

• Physical capacity to assist clients with mobility and personal care tasks

• A valid Australian driving licence and access to reliable transport

• Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain one

• Current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one

• Genuine passion for supporting vulnerable individuals and commitment to fostering independence
