STC WA GROUP PTY LTD STC WA GROUP PTY LTD is seeking an experienced and reliable Truck Driver to join its transport operations in Western Australia. The successful candidate will operate heavy vehicles to safely transport mining equipment, mining materials, and general freight to customer and project locations. The role involves vehicle inspections, loading and securing freight, route planning, completing transport documentation, and maintaining compliance with heavy vehicle and workplace safety requirements.
The position is suited to a professional driver who can work independently, manage delivery schedules, and maintain a strong focus on safety, reliability, and customer service. Transport loads to mine sites, industrial projects, customer locations, and other designated destinations. Conduct comprehensive pre-start, daily, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle roadworthiness. Check vehicle components including tyres, brakes, lights, fluid levels, and safety equipment.
Load, unload, position, and secure freight using appropriate equipment and approved load restraint methods. Ensure mining equipment and other specialised freight is secured in accordance with load restraint requirements. Follow approved routes and delivery schedules to ensure safe and timely deliveries.
Plan routes considering road conditions, vehicle restrictions, site requirements, and delivery timeframes. Monitor vehicle performance and report mechanical faults, defects, breakdowns, accidents, or maintenance requirements promptly. Comply with Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management requirements, and company procedures.
Follow mine-site, project-site, workplace health and safety, and environmental requirements. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, customers, mine-site personnel, and other stakeholders. Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of the assigned vehicle.
Ensure freight is delivered safely and without damage. Report delays, incidents, damaged goods, or delivery discrepancies to management. Assist with loading and unloading activities where required and safe to do so.
Qualification & experience Valid Australian HR, HC, or MC Heavy Vehicle Driver Licence, appropriate to the vehicle operated. Minimum 1-3 years of relevant full-time experience as a Truck Driver or Heavy Vehicle Driver. Demonstrated experience in freight, transport, haulage, mining, or logistics operations.
Experience transporting general freight, heavy equipment, mining materials, or similar loads. Sound understanding of safe driving practices, load restraint, fatigue management, and heavy vehicle compliance. Knowledge of Heavy Vehicle National Law and Chain of Responsibility requirements.
Ability to complete logbooks, delivery documentation, and electronic work diaries accurately. Good communication, time management, and organisational skills. Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
Ability to work independently and as part of a transport team. Ability and willingness to work a minimum of 38 ordinary hours per week, with reasonable additional hours as required by operational needs.
