The City of Salisbury is seeking an experienced and strategic Asset Management Lead - Urban Assets to join the Urban, Recreation and Natural Assets Division within City Infrastructure.

Reporting to the Team Leader Buildings, Lighting and Electrical Assets, you will be the lead asset management professional within the Division, providing specialist expertise and strategic leadership across a diverse portfolio of community infrastructure assets with a particular focus on building related assets and public lighting. The role is responsible for driving asset management excellence, developing long-term asset strategies and investment plans, and ensuring Council's assets continue to deliver value to the community while supporting long-term financial sustainability.

Your key responsibilities will include: 

• Provide strategic leadership in the stewardship and optimisation of Council's urban asset management function, ensuring assets support sustainable and responsive service delivery.
• Drive long-term asset investment, renewal and lifecycle planning to achieve organisational priorities, community expectations and financial sustainability.
• Serve as a trusted subject matter expert, influencing asset management outcomes through the provision of specialist advice and strategic guidance on complex infrastructure matters.
• Champion a whole-of-life asset management approach that maximises asset performance, service value and long-term sustainability.
• Lead the ongoing improvement of asset planning framework that support informed decision-making, resource allocation and organisational accountability.
• Ensure asset-related projects and initiatives are underpinned by sound technical standards, governance and quality outcomes throughout the asset lifecycle.
• Foster a culture of evidence-based decision-making through the strategic use of asset, financial and performance information.
• Contribute to the integration of asset management principles across Council's strategic, financial, business planning and operational processes.
• Build and maintain collaborative partnerships that strengthen stakeholder confidence and support the delivery of positive and sustainable community outcomes.
• Provide leadership, coaching and professional development support that builds organisational capability and promotes excellence in asset management practice across the Division.

About you:

You are an experienced asset management professional with a strong background in building assets and infrastructure. You have strong analytical skills and a passion for delivering sustainable infrastructure outcomes. You enjoy turning complex asset and financial data into actionable insights and are confident working with stakeholders at all levels to drive strategic decision making.

You have a strong understanding of asset lifecycle planning, infrastructure management and long-term financial sustainability, together with the ability to influence outcomes through effective communication, collaboration and leadership.

You will also have: 

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Architecture, Design or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience in asset management.
• Extensive knowledge of asset management principles, standards and practices.
• Experience developing and implementing strategic asset management plans and programs.
• Strong analytical skills with experience using data to inform decision making.
• Experience preparing business cases, technical reports and funding submissions.
• Knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting and lifecycle costing.
• Understanding of building standards, including the NCC, BCA and Essential Safety Measures will be highly regarded.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously.
• Experience working within Local Government or a similar public sector environment. (Highly regarded)
