Bar Attendant

We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused and experienced Bar Attendant to join our hospitality team in Darwin. This full-time permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced and professional hospitality environment while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with responsible service practices.
• Greet customers, take beverage orders and provide friendly, efficient customer service.
• Recommend drinks and menu items based on customer preferences.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and process cash, EFTPOS and credit card transactions accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar, service areas and equipment.
• Restock beverages, glassware and bar supplies as required.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages to management.
• Check customer identification to ensure compliance with liquor licensing laws.
• Ensure compliance with Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash reconciliation and cleaning duties.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen and floor staff to deliver excellent customer experiences.
• Handle customer enquiries and resolve service issues professionally.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum one year of relevant experience in a bar, restaurant, hotel or hospitality venue.
• Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate (or ability to obtain before commencement).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently during busy service periods.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good knowledge of beverages, cocktails, beer, wine and basic bar operations.
