Shutdown Mechanical Fitter - Mt Isa Power Station

• Power station experience is essential
• $80-90/hr based on experience
• 5 week contract starting late Sept

NW Mining & Civil are seeking experienced power station mechanical fitters to join our client’s team on a 5 week shutdown at a Mt Isa mine site.

Your day to day tasks will include the following, applicants must have proven experience in a similar role to be considered:

• Turbine and engine overhauls
• Pump and valve maintenance
• Auxiliary plant servicing
• Heat exchange overhauls
• Wear component replacement

The 5 week schedule will include 1 week of medical & inductions (all time paid) and 4 weeks on the planned shut working 12hr shifts. Flights, meals & accomm will be provided.

Pay rate is negotiable based on experience, in the range of $80-90/hr flat rate.  

At times you will be required to wear a respirator while on site, so applicants must be willing to be clean shaven.

• Relevant fitting trade qualification
• Power station experience
• Current working at heights (within 2 years)
• Current confined space (within 2 years)
• High risk EWP and/or Forklift would be highly regarded
• Be willing to be clean shaven & wear a respirator
• Must be able to pass a pre employment medical and D&A testing
• Be able to complete all mine site online induction requirements
