The Opportunity

As a Hydraulic Design Engineer, you'll play an important role in delivering projects from concept design through to construction. You'll work closely with clients, architects, builders, and other engineering disciplines to develop practical, coordinated hydraulic designs that meet both project objectives and industry standards.

This role offers genuine variety. You'll be involved in design, documentation, coordination, site inspections, client interaction, and mentoring opportunities as your career develops.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be involved in:

• Designing hydraulic services systems for a wide variety of building projects.

• Preparing detailed drawings and documentation using Revit and AutoCAD, including:

  • Sewer and sanitary drainage systems

  • Stormwater drainage systems

  • Hot and cold water services

  • Gas services

  • Pump systems

  • Trade waste systems

  • Rainwater reuse systems

  • Other hydraulic services as required

• Preparing hydraulic calculations, technical reports, specifications and supporting documentation.

• Coordinating designs with architects, structural, civil, mechanical and electrical consultants.

• Attending project meetings and liaising directly with clients.

• Conducting site inspections during construction and providing engineering support.

• Assisting with design reviews and mentoring junior engineers and technicians.

• Supporting project delivery to ensure quality, accuracy and deadlines are achieved.

• Maintaining high design standards and contributing to continuous improvement within the business.

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and industry professionals.

About You

You'll be someone who enjoys taking ownership of your work, has a strong technical foundation, and values producing quality engineering outcomes.

Ideally, you'll have:

• A degree qualification in Engineering.

• Experience in hydraulic services design within the building services industry.

• Proficiency in Revit.

• Experience using AutoCAD.

• A sound understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards.

• Strong technical problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organisational and time management skills.

• High attention to detail and pride in producing quality documentation.

• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
