Production assistant

Wing Plastics is a privately owned company in the south of Adelaide and a leading supplier of Flexible Packaging within Australia. Our product base incorporates a range of various packaging such as Produce, Bread, Home & Garden and Ice. This production assistant role requires a self motivated physically fit person to carry out regular duties in support of qualified printers operating large flexographic printing presses. It is a hands on production based position requiring some manual labour and lifting up to 15kg . The Printer / Assistant partnership is a vital component in maintaining efficiencies in a fast paced production environment. 
 

This is a Full Time permanent position with overtime available as required. Rotating Shift work, days(6am-2pm), afternoons(2pm-10pm), nights(10pm-6am) including all penalty rates and loadings, is a requirement of this position.

penalty rates & loadings-

dayshift - hourly rate

afternoon shift - hourly rate plus twenty percent shift loading

night shift- hourly rate plus thirty percent shift loading

first 2 hours of overtime - hourly rate x 1.5 plus any applicable shift loading

overtime after 2 hours - hourly rate x2 plus any applicable shift loading

The person we are seeking will need to have a reliable attendance record and high quality standards. Previous experience in a production roll or with hands on ability will be advantageous. Being able to read and understand written instructions is a requirement for this position. Further progression opportunities do exist in the company for the right applicant. Due to the nature of the work, applicants will need to be able to pass a colour blind test & pre employment medical.

Full training will be given to the successful candidate along with inductions in WHS, HACCP and company Policies and Procedures.
