Casual positions
Are you looking for flexible, rewarding work where you can make a genuine difference in someone’s life?
At Top Gunn Disability Support Services, you will be more than a name on a roster. You will be part of a supportive local team that values the contribution of great Disability Support Workers and understands the difference that reliable, respectful and person-centred support can make.
This is an opportunity to use your skills, personality and life experience to help people with disability live more independently, participate in their community and achieve goals that are important to them.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for additional compassionate and capable Disability Support Workers to join our team.
We welcome applicants with availability across weekdays, evenings, overnight supports and weekends. While weekend availability is not essential, applicants who are regularly available on Saturdays and/or Sundays will be strongly considered.
No two shifts will be exactly the same. Depending on the needs, preferences and goals of each participant, your responsibilities may include:
Supporting participants with daily living activities and personal care
Assisting with community access, appointments and social activities
Helping participants build independence and work towards their NDIS goals
Meal preparation and assistance with household tasks
Providing medication support within your training and scope
Completing accurate case notes and other required documentation
Following individual support plans, behaviour support strategies and risk-management procedures
Promoting participant choice, dignity, safety and inclusion
Qualifications and experience are valuable, but so are the right attitude, reliability and ability to connect respectfully with people.
We are looking for Support Workers who bring warmth, patience, common sense and professionalism to every shift. You will be comfortable working independently, building trusted professional relationships and contributing positively to a broader support team.
To be considered, you should have:
A genuine commitment to supporting people with disability
Strong communication, reliability and time-management skills
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
A current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one
A current Working with Children Check, where required
A current First Aid and CPR certificate, or willingness to obtain them
A current unrestricted driver licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle
The ability to meet the physical and inherent requirements of the role
Australian working rights
A Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability or a related field is highly regarded. Relevant experience, life experience and transferable skills will also be considered.
Meaningful work helping people live life their way
Flexible casual shifts across a range of days and times
Weekday casual rates of $45.28–$49.41 per hour, depending on classification and experience
Applicable weekend, public holiday and shift penalty rates
Approachable, locally based management
Ongoing training and professional development
Opportunities to support a diverse range of participants
The possibility of additional shifts as our organisation continues to grow
Please apply through SEEK with your current résumé and a brief cover letter outlining:
Your relevant experience and qualifications
Your usual availability across weekdays, evenings and weekends
Your preferred number of hours per week
When you would be available to commence
