Assistant Manager

About the role

Warners Bay Hotel is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team in Warners Bay, NSW. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to support the overall management and operations of our hotel. As Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring exceptional guest experiences, maintaining high operational standards, and contributing to the strategic direction of the hotel. This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with senior management to drive business performance and lead our team to success.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the day-to-day management and operations of the hotel, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery

• Support the General Manager in implementing policies, procedures, and operational standards across all departments

• Oversee staff scheduling, training and development to ensure the team delivers excellent customer service

• Monitor and maintain budgets, control costs, and contribute to revenue optimisation initiatives

• Handle guest relations and resolve complaints professionally and promptly to maintain customer satisfaction

• Manage health, safety and security compliance throughout the hotel

• Coordinate with department heads across housekeeping, food and beverage, front desk and maintenance to ensure seamless operations

• Support marketing and promotional activities to drive occupancy and revenue growth

• Conduct regular inspections of facilities and guest areas to ensure standards are maintained

• Assist with recruitment, onboarding and performance management of staff members

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in a hotel or hospitality management role, ideally in an assistant or supervisory capacity

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Sound knowledge of hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping and food and beverage services

• Proficiency with hotel management systems and booking platforms

• Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost control

• Problem-solving ability with a customer-focused approach

• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required

• A qualification in Hospitality Management or equivalent experience is preferred

• Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it
