About the role
Job Purpose
To support The Underground Collaborative’s (TUC) Team Members to successfully progress through its Employment Program and achieve positive employment outcomes.
About Us
TUC is a Perth-based social enterprise that builds capacity for women and young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness through employment, education and empowerment, via its two initiatives – Ground+Co Café and TUC Cleaning Co.
About The Role
The Employment Program Support Worker provides case management, workplace support and training to Team Members throughout their journey with TUC.
Working closely with the CEO, Operations Manager, operational leaders, referral partners, service providers and employers, you will help Team Members develop the skills, confidence and experience needed to transition into sustainable employment and/or further education.
You will coordinate participant support, deliver the Employment Program, monitor progress and build relationships with referral agencies and employers to achieve positive employment outcomes.
Reporting to the CEO, your primary responsibilities include:
Providing holistic, positive guidance and support, and high-quality case management to a small caseload of women and young people as you assist them to become work ready during their time at TUC.
Delivering training material as part of TUC’s Employment Program, including conducting intake assessments, coordinating work experience shifts and conducting regular individual support.
Coordinating and developing the delivery of a range of supports for Team Members (case management, coordination with specialist service providers, life skills, vocational training, on the job workplace mentoring and work experience, support transitioning into further training and/or employment).
Using your experience and training to make professional judgements while maintaining appropriate personal and professional boundaries.
Providing tailored wrap-around support in an empathetic but direct manner.
Providing support to our Core Team, Café Manager at Ground+Co and Team Leader at TUC Cleaning Co to enable appropriate work support to Team Members.
Assisting with the onboarding of new Team Members, including coordinating documentation and providing additional support to help Team Members settle into their roles.
Participating in the development and delivery of relevant training and support for Ground+Co and TUC Cleaning Co staff.
Establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with referral agencies, organisations, and employment partners.
Participating in TUC’s measurement and evaluation activities in order to deliver evidence-based programs with a focus on continuous improvement.
Providing post-placement support to our Team Members and Employment Partners.
About You
Tertiary qualifications in social work, youth work and/or relevant community service qualifications.
Two years or more of demonstrated ability to work effectively with vulnerable women and young people, particularly those facing multiple complex challenges such as unemployment, social isolation, victims of violence, mental illness, alcohol and other drug issues, housing insecurity, health issues, family issues.
Strong time management skills and ability to effectively manage a range of tasks and responsibilities.
Excellent communication skills with an ability to tailor communication styles to the audience.
Experience delivering employment, training or community services programs that support people facing barriers to employment.
Commitment to TUC’s values and strong alignment to our purpose.
Key Performance Indicators
Participants successfully completing the Employment Program.
Participants progressing to employment or further education.
Participant retention and engagement.
Timely completion of case notes and reporting.
Positive relationships with referral partners.

This is a fixed-term, 0.4 FTE/part-time position for an initial 12-month period, with the potential for extension and additional hours subject to ongoing funding. Salary packaging is available.
