What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a safety-focused and reliable Plant Operator to join our Works Operations team. In this role, you will undertake road construction and maintenance activities using Council plant and equipment while contributing to the delivery of quality services for our community.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced operator who enjoys working outdoors, can work autonomously and as part of a team, and takes pride in delivering high-quality outcomes. While no grader or tractor experience is required, excavator experience would be a strong advantage.
What Your Day Will Look Like
Operate plant and fleet for road and drainage construction and maintenance works. Undertake labouring duties to support operational works programs. Complete pre-start inspections and basic plant maintenance activities. Support safe work practices, including traffic management requirements. Provide professional customer service when working in public environments. Record work activities, service requests and timesheets using Council systems.

What You’ll Need For Success
Current General Construction Induction Card (White Card). Valid HC licence recognised in Queensland.Plant operation competency or statements of attainment for the operation of excavator.Demonstrated experience operating plant and fleet in road construction, maintenance or drainage environments. Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment. Sound knowledge of WHS, environmental and risk management practices.Well-developed communication and customer service skills.Ability to use mobile devices and electronic work management systems.
What’s Nice To Have
Valid HC licence recognised in Queensland.Hold, or have the ability to obtain, relevant plant operation competencies or statements of attainment for the operation of plant such as front-end loader, backhoe, skidsteer.Traffic Management Implementation (Level 2).
