Associate Director, Fraud Risk

As fraud and scams continue to evolve, we're looking for an experienced Fraud Risk Associate Director to provide senior fraud risk leadership, strengthen organisational resilience, and support key regulatory and strategic initiatives.

This is an opportunity to play a critical role in shaping fraud risk outcomes across the bank, partnering with stakeholders across Risk, First Line business teams, Financial Crime Operations, Audit, and Change functions.

What you'll be doing:

As a senior fraud risk subject matter expert, you'll provide strategic guidance and practical support across fraud and scams risk management, regulatory change, audit activities, and risk uplift programs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing senior fraud risk SME leadership across fraud, scams, controls, incidents, and thematic risk matters.
• Supporting the implementation and ongoing management of Scam Prevention Framework (SPF) requirements and other fraud-related regulatory initiatives.
• Leading and contributing to fraud risk assessments, control reviews, and thematic analysis.
• Supporting internal audit engagements, assurance activities, issue remediation, and risk uplift programs.
• Partnering with business, product, operational, and change teams to identify, assess, and manage emerging fraud and scams risks.
• Preparing governance papers, risk insights, recommendations, and escalation materials for senior stakeholders.
• Providing trusted fraud risk advice across business initiatives, operational changes, and strategic programs.
• Building organisational resilience by strengthening senior fraud SME capability and reducing key-person dependency risk.

What you'll bring:

We're seeking an experienced fraud risk professional with deep expertise in fraud, scams, risk management, and regulatory engagement within banking or financial services.

You'll bring:

• Significant experience in fraud risk management, financial crime risk, or operational risk within a regulated financial services environment.
• Strong knowledge of fraud controls, scams risk management, and emerging fraud threats.
• Experience supporting regulatory change, audit engagements, assurance reviews, and remediation programs.
• Strong understanding of risk frameworks, governance practices, and control environments.
• Ability to translate complex risk issues into practical business outcomes and clear stakeholder recommendations.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organisation.
• Proven experience leading complex risk initiatives and working across cross-functional teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of governance and executive-level papers.
