Albury Wodonga Private Hospital provides an extensive range of inpatient and day patient services all located on site for the convenience of our patients. Equipped with advanced medical, surgical and diagnostic technology, the Hospital and our team of highly skilled practitioners are able to provide the very best in medical, surgical and psychiatric care.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our hospital kitchen team on a casual basis. This role offers the opportunity to prepare high-quality meals, support excellent patient dining experiences, and contribute to a collaborative and efficient kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve high-quality meals that meet patient dietary requirements and food service standards.
• Assist with food ordering and stock control in the absence of the Coordinator.
• Support menu planning using seasonal ingredients while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, HACCP, and infection control standards.
• Manage food preparation, cooking, plating, and kitchen operations to deliver consistent, timely service.
• Monitor inventory, stock rotation, and kitchen supplies to minimise waste.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen and hospital teams to ensure efficient service.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and effectively.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience in a high-volume commercial kitchen, preferably in healthcare or hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen hygiene practices.
• Skills in portion control, food costing, and inventory management.
• Excellent organisational and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.

On offer is a base hourly rate of $30.18 + casual loading and superannuation, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (NSW Chef gr1).
