Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.

About Our Department

The Emergency Department provides 24 hour a day emergency care. We have 2 resuscitation bays and 7 cubicles, we also run a fast track clinic daily.

About the Role

An Emergency Department Registered Nurse provides rapid assessment, treatment, and ongoing care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening conditions. They work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to prioritise care through triage, administer medications and treatments, monitor patient progress, respond to medical emergencies, educate patients and families, and ensure safe, evidence-based care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Registered Midwife and Nurse holding current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Relevant post graduate education or experience in Emergency
