Join a Growing Australian Building Supplies BusinessWe are a growing, family-owned building supplies business supplying timber and building products to trades and construction businesses across Sydney. We are looking for an experienced Warehouse & Asset Operations Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day warehouse operations and help us continue improving the way we work. This is a hands-on leadership position suited to someone who enjoys being involved in the operation, solving problems and making things run better. You will work closely with the Directors Finance and Business Operations Manager and lead our warehouse and logistics team, providing the structure, guidance and accountability needed to keep the warehouse operating efficiently.
The OpportunityThis role has been created to strengthen our operational structure as the business continues to grow. You will take responsibility for:Leading and supporting the warehouse and logistics teamPlanning warehouse rosters and staffing requirementsMonitoring warehouse productivity and performanceManaging inventory accuracy and investigating discrepanciesCoordinating inventory adjustments when requiredTaking ownership of trucks, forklifts, trailers and other operational equipmentCoordinating servicing, maintenance and repairsManaging relationships with mechanics and external service providersMaintaining equipment and asset recordsIdentifying opportunities to improve warehouse efficiencyEnsuring warehouse procedures and WHS requirements are followedReporting operational issues and opportunities directly to the Directors
What We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and practical, with strong leadership skills. You don't need to have already been an Operations Manager. This could be an excellent next step for an experienced Warehouse Manager, Warehouse Supervisor, Logistics Supervisor, Senior Warehouse Team Leader or Operations Coordinator. We are particularly interested in someone who is mechanically minded and comfortable managing trucks, forklifts, machinery and equipment, or someone with strong experience coordinating maintenance and external contractors.
