Sunrise Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (SHSAC) is an Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation.
We provide primary health care services across nine communities, operating from six health center's across 45,000 square kilometers in the Big Rivers region of the NT. The Sunrise footprint covers Aboriginal communities with some of the most untouched, beautiful landscapes to explore, where locals are welcoming and generous in sharing their culture.
Sunrise now has multiple opportunities for experienced or aspiring Health Centre Managers to join our dedicated teams across a number of remote communities in the Big Rivers region.
Are you an experienced health professional and people leader looking to make a meaningful difference in remote Aboriginal communities? As Health Centre Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the health centre while supporting a multidisciplinary team to deliver culturally safe, integrated and high-quality healthcare.
This is a diverse leadership role encompassing clinical service coordination, staff development, pharmacy and consumables, assets and operational management. A key focus will be building the capacity of Aboriginal Health Practitioners and other Indigenous staff to strengthen culturally safe care and improve health outcomes for community.
Working collaboratively with internal teams, external organisations and community partners, you will help drive initiatives that promote wellbeing, strengthen health systems and encourage community health action. The role also participates in the emergency call roster and provides support to the team for after-hours needs.
Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective primary healthcare services.
Oversee clinical operations, planning, portfolio management, pharmacy and consumables.
Manage health Centre assets and resources to ensure smooth operations.
Mentor, support, and train staff to deliver culturally safe healthcare.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to improve health outcomes.
Participate in the emergency on-call roster and support after-hours responses.
Foster an inclusive, supportive environment for both staff and patients.
Registration with AHPRA as a General Nurse or Aboriginal Health Practitioner.
Broad experience in comprehensive primary healthcare with advanced clinical skills to work effectively in remote settings.
A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in comprehensive primary healthcare is required.
Commitment to the values of Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and respect for Aboriginal culture.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to supervise, mentor, and inspire diverse teams.
Team leadership experience is required for this Health Centre Manager position.
A minimum of 1-2 years of team leadership experience is required.
Understanding of Aboriginal health issues, health inequality drivers, and NT health legislation (desirable).
Resilience, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to achieving positive outcomes.
Remote healthcare experience is highly preferred for this position.
