Our mission is bigger than ever, and we have a unique opportunity for an experienced and empathetic counsellor to join our team. This is a part time position working 30.4 hours a week (4 days) from our Beenleigh office.

About the team:

At Bravehearts, our dedicated counselling team is made up of experienced psychologists, social workers, and counsellors who specialise in supporting children, young people, and families affected by child sexual abuse. We use evidence-based interventions and best practice approaches to help clients navigate and heal from trauma in a compassionate, safe, and supportive environment.

The team look out for one another, share knowledge, and collaborate closely to ensure the best outcomes for our clients and each other.

About the Clinician role:

As a Clinician, you will be responsible for providing counselling through face-to-face, telephone and/or online sessions, conducting psychological and other assessments, maintaining detailed case notes, and ensuring your practice is consistently of the highest standard. The role also includes administrative duties related to client care, delivering community training and education, and participating in regular supervision and professional development.

About You:

• Tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work or counselling.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in providing counselling (within the field of trauma is preferred).
• Registration (or eligibility) and/or membership with governing body of profession (Psychologists Registration Board of Queensland, Australian Counselling Association, the Australian Association of Social Work, or Queensland Counselling Association).
• A sound understanding of child protection legislation relevant to service delivery, and the effects of trauma on the individual, family, interpersonal, and societal level.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, complemented by strong negotiation and mediation abilities.
• Experience and understanding of issues relating to service delivery with an agency that is committed to socially and culturally inclusive practices is preferable.
• An understanding of working within a mandatory reporting framework.
• Must have or be willing to apply for a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and National Police Certificate.
