About The Role

This is a FIFO position so you can be based in Perth, Brisbane or the Gold Coast.

The initial project is expected to run for 12 months, but don't view this as a short-term appointment. The company has a strong pipeline of work and wants someone who can continue with the business once this project is complete.

Reporting to the Superintendent, you will be providing hands on support in the field, assisting with the coordination of all resources to ensure the effective delivery of safe projects within budget and within time.

You'll Be

Overseeing day-to-day site operations and keeping the work moving safely and efficiently;Coordinating site crews, subcontractors, suppliers, plant and materials;Working with the project team to develop and deliver daily and weekly work programmes;Leading pre-starts, toolbox talks and site meetings;Reading and interpreting drawings, specifications and construction programmes;Monitoring productivity, costs and progress and identifying problems before they affect delivery;Ensuring all work complies with safety, environmental, quality and project requirements;Overseeing inspections, testing and quality documentation;Maintaining accurate daily records, including progress updates, photo logs and cost information;Identifying potential variations and notifying the project management team early;Building productive relationships with the client, workforce and other stakeholders;Mentoring your team and holding people accountable for doing the job properly.

About You

You're a seasoned Civil Supervisor who knows how to lead a crew and turn a project plan into safe, productive work on the ground.

You don't supervise from a distance. You're visible, practical and prepared to step in when something needs attention.

You'll Have

Significant site-based civil construction experience;Proven experience supervising crews, subcontractors and multiple work fronts;Airport or apron project experience, or a strong background in pavement or asphalt works;A sound understanding of civil construction methods, sequencing and site logistics;The ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and relevant standards;Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety, environmental and quality requirements;The ability to plan ahead and coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors;Confident communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and the workforce;Accurate reporting and record-keeping skills;A Certificate III in Civil Construction, Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision or equivalent experience;The flexibility and willingness to FIFO to Karatha but also to other states for future projects;A hands-on approach and a willingness to take ownership rather than wait for direction.
