About the role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join Building Dynamix / Westside Balustrading on a full-time basis at our facility in Dry Creek SA 5094. This is a pivotal role within our management structure, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing and logistics functions. As Operations Manager, you will play a strategic role in ensuring efficient production schedules, maintaining high quality standards, optimising resource allocation and driving continuous improvement across all operational areas. Your leadership will directly impact our productivity, profitability and customer satisfaction levels.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and monitor production activities to ensure timely delivery of orders whilst maintaining quality standards

• Oversee inventory management, including stock levels, procurement and material handling across the warehouse and production facilities

• Manage and supervise operational staff, including recruitment, training, performance management and fostering a positive workplace culture

• Implement and maintain health and safety protocols, ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards

• Monitor operational costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements

• Coordinate logistics and distribution activities to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment

• Maintain accurate operational records, data and reporting systems for management review

• Liaise with sales, customer service and senior management to align operations with business objectives and customer requirements

• Identify process improvements and implement solutions to enhance productivity and reduce waste

• Manage equipment maintenance schedules and oversee vendor relationships

What we're looking for

• Proven experience of at least 3 years in operations management, preferably within manufacturing, residential construction or a related industry

• Strong understanding of production planning, inventory control and supply chain management

• Demonstrated leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members

• Excellent organisational and project management abilities with strong attention to detail

• Proficiency with CRM and Production systems and Microsoft Office applications

• Knowledge of health and safety compliance requirements and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal

• A track record of achieving operational targets and delivering measurable results

• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, changing business environment

• Experience in the balustrading, construction, manufacturing or allied industries would be highly advantageous
