The role
You’ll be providing accounting expertise to support the Global Financial Controller ensuring the finances of our business are managed. You’ll also have responsibility for a small, high performing team and have involvement in various finance related projects.
  
Core Responsibilities

• Responsible for all day-to-day financial activities including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, cash processing, time accounting, BAS returns etc. in addition to all month end routines.
• Management Reporting to Global Financial Controller and budget holders on the financial performance of the company both formally on a monthly basis and on an ad-hoc basis.
• Responsible for managing the invoicing and cash collection processes with a focus on reducing Avance’s DSO ratio and ensuring the cash conversion ratio stays above 90% month on month by managing all aspects of the working capital management cycle.
• Supporting the CFO in the production of the annual budget and ongoing re-forecasts.
• Liaise with external bodies including external tax accountants, external auditors, bankers and insurance brokers.
• Identify and implement systems and process improvements aimed at driving efficiencies to maximise the use of finance team resources.

  
Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Qualified Accountant.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leading Accounting role.
• Expert user of computerised accounting systems.
• Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills.
• A proven track record in managing deadlines and prioritising work commitments.
• Experience of system / process improvement (system implementation experience preferable).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with managers and staff at all levels of the organisation and with clients and visitors alike.
• The ability to work autonomously in a confidential environment.
• The ability to exercise a high degree of initiative and discretion while maintaining an important and effective link to all areas of the organisation.
