Senior Site Executive – Quarries

RSA is seeking an experienced and qualified Senior Site Executive (SSE) to lead our quarry operations in the Western Downs region, Queensland.

This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring quarry operations are conducted safely, efficiently and in accordance with the Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999 (Qld), while delivering strong operational and commercial outcomes.

Working a 5:2 roster, you’ll enjoy the ability to return home each night, keeping your weekends free. *Accommodation options are available for those travelling from outside the local area.

About the Role: As the Senior Site Executive, you’ll provide leadership across all aspects of the quarry operation, driving a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.

Working closely with operational teams and senior management, you’ll be responsible for achieving cost & production objectives, maintaining compliance, managing resources effectively and delivering sustainable business outcomes.

About You: You’re an experienced leader who brings a strong operational mindset, sound commercial judgement and a commitment to safety excellence. You enjoy building high-performing teams, developing capability and identifying opportunities to improve productivity and performance.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience within mining or quarrying operations
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory, management or SSE capacity
• RII50120 Diploma of Surface Operations Management (or equivalent)
• RIIRIS501E (previously RIIRIS501D) Implement and Maintain Management Systems to Control Risk (or equivalent)
• BSBWHS521 Ensure a safe workplace for a work area (previously BSBWHS501), or an equivalent or superior qualification.
• A recognised Shotfirer’s Licence OR the three competency units: RIIBLA301E (previously RIIBLA301D) Conduct Surface Shot Firing Operations , RIIBLA205E (previously RIIBLA205D)Store, Handle and Transport Explosives and RIIBLA305E (previously RIIBLA305D) Conduct Secondary Blasting OR a recognised Safe Drilling and Blasting course.
• Extensive knowledge of DTMR material classifications and specifications.
• Proven ability to balance safety, production and commercial outcomes
• A current Australian Driver’s Licence + General Construction Induction (White Card)
• A strong understanding of statutory obligations and operational requirements within the quarrying or mining sector
• Well-developed leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
