Are you a people-person who loves creating memorable moments for visitors? Campaspe Port Enterprises (CPE) is looking for a Customer Experience Officer to be the welcoming face of one of regional Victoria's most iconic destinations — the historic Port of Echuca precinct.

🎤 About the role

This is a hands-on, varied role where no two days look the same. As a Customer Experience Officer, you'll be the first point of contact for visitors exploring the Port of Echuca precinct welcoming them, guiding their experience, and ensuring every interaction leaves a lasting impression.

Availability across weekends, school holidays and public holidays is essential, as these are our busiest periods when great customer service matters most.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Provide excellent, efficient, and friendly customer service to all visitors.

• Support the retail gift shop, by assisting in the presentation of merchandise, pricing stock, store layout, and advising of stock levels.

• Actively drive ticket sales, bookings, retail sales and hospitality services across all areas of operations to achieve targets 

• Foster positive relationships with all staff and volunteers within the various business operations of CPE 

• Operate an on-line booking and POS system, EFTPOS and cash handling.

• Undertake general cleaning duties of the various areas associated with business operations 

• Assist with the maintenance and preparation of all exhibits and museum collections within the business as required 

• Undertake online data entry to assist with the preparation and maintenance of data bases within the business 

• Successfully prepare and sell food and beverages, tour products and merchandise.

• Assist with the successful delivery of aligned projects, tours & functions.

• Maintain a safe environment for visitors, public and staff 

• Comply with Food Safety and OHS compliance operations.

• Other duties within training and competencies as required.

✅ About you

You're organised, dependable and take real pride in getting the details right. You work well with limited supervision and aren't fazed by a varied workload.

You will have:

1. Sound knowledge of Port of Echuca precinct visitor experiences 

2. Exceptional customer service skills including the ability to empathise with visitors, understand and anticipate their needs and a willingness to help all visitors.

3. Barista skills highly regarded.

4. Able to work as part of a team.

5. Good basic computer skills – MS Word and Excel, SharePoint, email, and internet.

6. Experience in hospitality and customer service.

7. Ability to be rostered on weekends, school holidays and public holidays is essential.

8. Ability to effectively plan and manage your time to achieve the objectives and targets 

9. Ability to understand and interpret the long-term goals and objectives of the organisation to communicate effectively within the environment which we operate.  

10. Demonstrated initiative, enthusiasm and self-motivation 

11. Previous experience within a retail environment  

12. Knowledge of computerised retail systems and daily receipting
