Bookkeeper

About the role

You will be responsible for managing bookkeeping and payroll requirements across multiple clients operating in a variety of industries. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who is confident working independently, managing deadlines and dealing directly with clients.

The role will involve a combination of working from our office, working from home and on-site at client locations as required.

Salary $75,000 to $85,000

Key responsibilities

• End-to-end bookkeeping for multiple clients

• Accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Bank and credit card reconciliations

• General ledger reconciliations and month-end processing

• Payroll processing for multiple businesses

• Interpretation and application of Modern Awards, pay rates, allowances, overtime and entitlements

• Superannuation and payroll-related compliance

• Preparation and lodgement of Business Activity Statements (BAS)

• Liaising directly with clients and responding to bookkeeping and payroll queries

About you

• A minimum of 5 years' bookkeeping experience

• Demonstrated experience managing the accounts of multiple clients across different industries

• Strong experience using Xero

• Experience with MYOB is highly regarded

• Strong payroll experience

• Practical experience interpreting and applying Modern Awards

• BAS Agent registration is highly regarded; alternatively, significant hands-on experience preparing and lodging BAS

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong organisational and time-management skills
