Personal Care Worker

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and Italian-speaking Personal Care Worker to support our My Aged Care clients across Metropolitan Melbourne. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred care and building meaningful connections with older members of the Italian community.

As a Personal Care Worker, you will provide in-home support to elderly clients, helping them maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life while remaining in the comfort of their own homes. The ability to communicate effectively in Italian is essential, as many of our clients prefer receiving care and support in their native language.

We are currently offering 20+ hours per week, with shifts available Monday to Saturday. For the right candidate, there may be an opportunity to transition into a part-time position with secure, ongoing hours.

• Provide personal care assistance, including showering, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene support

• Assist clients with mobility, transfers, and daily living activities

• Support meal preparation and light household duties

• Provide companionship and emotional support

• Communicate with clients and their families in Italian where required

• Follow individual care plans and report any changes in a client's condition

• Liaise effectively with Care Partners and the broader care team

• Use mobile applications and digital systems to complete client documentation

• Travel to clients' homes across Metropolitan Melbourne

• Be willing to travel up to 40km from your home location to support clients as required

• Deliver care with empathy, respect, and cultural sensitivity

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care, Home & Community Care, or equivalent) – essential

• Fluent Italian language skills (spoken) – essential

• Previous experience in aged care, home care, disability support, or community services

• A caring, patient, and respectful approach to supporting older people

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Basic computer skills and confidence using smartphone applications

• Current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle (with comprehensive insurance)

• Current National Police Check and relevant clearances (or willingness to obtain)
