Smith & Co is seeking experienced Civil Pipelayers ready to step into consistent, well-paid work with some of South East Queensland’s leading civil contractors.

With major infrastructure, subdivision, and roadworks projects underway across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, and Ipswich, we have immediate opportunities for skilled pipelayers who know their levels, take pride in quality work, and want long-term stability.

If you can confidently install underground services, work from plans, and deliver accurate results alongside an experienced civil crew, we want to hear from you.

• Earn $40–$60 per hour, plus penalty rates
• Work up to 10-hour days with overtime opportunities available
• Secure ongoing work backed by strong project pipelines
• Choose from projects across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, and Ipswich
• Gain exposure to major infrastructure, subdivision, and roadworks projects
• Progress into Leading Hand, Supervisor, or Foreman positions
• Join established contractors with professional and supportive site teams

• Install sewer, stormwater, and water main infrastructure accurately and efficiently
• Set up and confidently work with dumpy levels and pipe lasers
• Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, levels, and specifications
• Complete trench preparation, bedding, pipe installation, and backfilling
• Assist with the construction and installation of pits, manholes, and drainage structures
• Coordinate with operators, supervisors, and ground crews to maintain productivity
• Deliver quality work while following all site safety requirements

• Proven experience as a Civil Pipelayer on subdivisions, roadworks, or infrastructure projects
• Strong experience installing sewer, stormwater, or water main systems
• The ability to work accurately with levels, pipe lasers, and construction plans
• Experience completing pit construction and associated drainage works
• A current White Card and driver’s license
• A reliable work ethic and strong commitment to safety and quality
• Leading Hand or Foreman experience is highly regarded
• Relevant machinery or civil construction tickets will be advantageous
