Clinical Trainer & Assessor

Nulsen is seeking an experienced Clinical Trainer and Assessor to design, deliver and assess practical, health-related training for employees supporting people with disability. About the role

Reporting to the Coordinator, Learning and Development, the Clinical Trainer and Assessor will develop, deliver and administer health-related training and competency assessments for employees providing day-to-day support to people with disability.

Working closely with Nulsen’s nursing, Learning and Development and operational teams, you will ensure training is practical, contemporary and relevant to the needs of employees and the people we support.

Your responsibilities will include:

• designing and delivering engaging healthcare training for individuals and groups of adult learners;
• developing and conducting workplace-based clinical competency assessments;
• providing clear and constructive feedback, remedial training and skills development where required;
• reviewing and maintaining nursing-related training materials in consultation with senior clinical employees;
• consulting with managers and clinical stakeholders to ensure training meets operational and participant needs;
• maintaining accurate training, assessment and competency records;
• supporting internal and external audit activities;
• ensuring training and assessment materials comply with relevant standards, legislation and codes of practice;
• monitoring online learning systems and employee clinical competencies; and
• keeping clinical knowledge and training content aligned with contemporary practice.

About you

You will be a confident and approachable clinical educator who can translate healthcare knowledge into practical learning for employees working in disability services.

To be successful, you will have:

• current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA;
• a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or a higher relevant qualification;
• demonstrated experience delivering training and conducting competency assessments;
• experience in disability, community services or another relevant care environment;
• strong presentation, facilitation and communication skills;
• the ability to develop clear and practical training programs and resources;
• strong written, analytical and stakeholder engagement skills;
• confidence using Microsoft Office and online learning platforms;
• a current Australian driver’s licence;
• a current first aid qualification, or the ability to obtain one;
• a current or obtainable NDIS Worker Screening Check;
• access to a reliable vehicle for work-related travel; and
• appropriate Australian working rights.
