About the role
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Creative Technology Team within City of Melbourne Libraries as a Multimedia and Events Officer. You will help bring innovation, creativity and learning to life across City of Melbourne Libraries.
As a Multimedia and Events Officer, you'll support the delivery of makerspace services, technology programs and community events, while helping customers access a range of creative tools, digital technologies and library services.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, technology and emerging trends in a dynamic community-focused environment. You'll join a passionate and compassionate team who strive to deliver the best in community based technology education along with COM's ICARE values - integrity, courage, accountability, respect, and excellence.
Working four mornings per week (Tuesday to Friday), you will provide essential service support including customer assistance, makerspace operations, technology support, event delivery and library administration. You will also have the opportunity to increase your hours when required to assist with planned and unplanned staff absences.

Deliver high-quality customer service and information assistance to library users across a range of library and technology services.
Support the operation of makerspaces, multimedia equipment, creative technology programs and community events.
Assist with technology troubleshooting, customer inductions, event set-up and pack-down, and general library operations.

About you
You are a customer-focused and adaptable professional who enjoys working with technology, creative tools and the community. You thrive in a busy service environment, are comfortable supporting people with varying levels of technical knowledge, and are able to balance multiple priorities while maintaining a positive customer experience.
What your experience might look like - Key Selection Criteria
Experience delivering excellent customer service in a library, community, creative technology or similar public-facing environment.
Confidence using and troubleshooting a variety of digital technologies, multimedia equipment and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn new systems and tools.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, a friendly and curious attitude with the ability to support diverse community members through one-on-one assistance, group activities and events.
