Leading Hand Mechanical Fitter

The Leading Hand & Mechanical Maintenance Fitter is the ‘go-to technical expert’ for the Plant and Equipment.
As an experienced, working team member you are responsible for the safe operation & maintenance of Plant and Equipment.
The person must have the ability to undertake plant operation and maintenance programs. The range of projects and programs may vary according to direction of the Production Manager.The person must accept responsibility for quality and standard of work performed, including the work of other team members when working in a team environment.The person must be responsible for allocated materials, tools, equipment, vehicles and plant in his/her use and other employees/contractors when working under their supervision.The person is responsible for understanding quality control/assurance procedures, including ability to recognize and report quality deviation and/or faults.The Leading Hand is also responsible for motivating and training Plant Operators and ContractorsThe Leading Hand is also responsible for ensuring OH&S requirements of team members, under their supervision, are met and promoting the culture of safety within their shifts.The person ensures that all plant assets are properly managed and safeguarded.The person must perform their duties in such a way that their actions do not lead to negative environmental or workplace health and safety impacts.The person may be asked to work in a production role when there are no maintenance duties to perform.
